What is the working principle of Industrial Hydraulic Cylinders?

Jan 03, 2025

When the hydraulic oil enters the cylinder from the oil inlet at one end of the industrial hydraulic cylinder, the hydraulic oil will act on the surface of one side of the piston. Because the hydraulic oil has a certain pressure, the piston will be subjected to an axial thrust under the action of pressure.

According to Pascal's law, in a closed container, the pressure applied to a static liquid will be transmitted to each point of the liquid at the same time with equal value. Therefore, the pressure on the surface of the piston is evenly distributed, which enables the piston to move linearly in the axial direction in the cylinder.

Oil return process: When the piston moves in one direction, the oil at the other end of the industrial hydraulic cylinder will be discharged from the cylinder.

In short, the industrial hydraulic cylinder continuously feeds and returns oil to make the piston move back and forth in the cylinder, thereby converting the hydraulic energy in the hydraulic system into mechanical energy, providing powerful power and precise motion control for various industrial equipment.
